In the age of Instagram, the concept of design has become somewhat ubiquitous. Scrolling through image after image of beautiful interiors allows us to imagine or plan what we would like to have in our own homes. As kitchen designers we find this helpful; often our clients will come to their first meeting with us armed with inspirational images or mood boards, enabling us to more accurately produce designs in keeping with their vision.
Other times it creates a dilemma. A client will want to choose a finish or layout based on an image they like, but it may not be user-friendly or work for their space. Ultimately, every kitchen is different. There are many factors to think about when designing a kitchen other than the ‘look’.
We frequently explain to clients that kitchens are like a puzzle. Our job is to make sure all of the pieces fit seamlessly together. This is the value a kitchen designer adds – they understand how to make the best use of the space, and how to design a kitchen so it will stand the test of time.
Good design is timeless, functional and considered. This is what lies at the core of how we design kitchens.
If you are considering a new kitchen, we would love to hear from you. See the Contact Us section of our website for further details on how to book a virtual consultation or in-person appointment.
